When I Grow Up I'm going to Be an Accountant.

I know my husband well enough to know that his real answer was NBA All-Star, but when that fell through, he sure did pick up the pieces and make some magic happen!

This was a HUGE event for our family, as I'm sure it is for many. My dear husband has made huge sacrifices of time and energy away from his family as he plowed through school. And by plowed, I mean it! He graduated with his bachelor's degree in Accounting just last Spring 2009, was admitted into the Master's program, and completed it in just 3 semesters all while working full time . If it sounds like I'm bragging, it's because I am:) Of course, we would be foolish not to recognize the major blessing we have received during this challenging time. Jon has rarely suffered from even minor sickness, even on a constant lack of sleep. He somehow came up with the energy each week to complete the numerous tasks. We have strongly felt Heavenly Father's hand guiding our lives and major decisions like these.

It was a very special experience to have not only President Monson speak at the Commencement Exercises, but also President Eyring and Uchtdorf were there. President Monson talked about the ABCs of life:
A for Attitude: 10% is what happens to us in life, 90% is how one reacts.
B for Belief: You can achieve what you believe you can
C for Courage: You can gain strength by looking fear in the face.

We celebrated with lunch at Ruby River. It was so nice
to have both of our parents with us that day.
Taggart did not get that privilege and instead stayed home
with Uncle Daniel.

Thanks for all your hardwork and determination Sweetie!

We are so proud and so excited to see more of you!

On to the dreaded CPA exams.....

Easter 2010

We loved the Baby Animal Farm in Logan so much last year, that I believe it will be a yearly tradition. The kids can really get in the cages and touch the animals. I adore seeing that Tag already has a love for animals like me. We rolled around with just about every animal there. Tag's daddy, on the other hand, just watched. I'm afraid he doesn't share the love like we do:)

Yellowstone Bear Country was there with two baby bears.
They were so darn cute. I don't believe I've ever seen
a bear in real life before.
The egg dying...
The fun of holidays are returning now that I can
live them through a fun-spirited little boy.

Just realizing, I have a lot of pics of Tag without
pants on. For the record, he does wear pants
about forty percent of the time.

Bobo & Silky

Taggart's 2 favorite things.
Anytime he is sleepy, hurt,
sad, or just plain cuddly,
these two are a must.

I seriously adore his love for them.

Closing One Chapter.

April 15th has come and gone,
along with spring semester and graduation,
which means one major thing for me:
More time with this guy, and that
makes my heart smile:)

An Evening Ride with Mom.

Helmet-check
PB&J-check
Water Bottle-check
Robot-check
Pillow-check
Refusing a nap all day and then drifting off to sleep
during the ride and much too late in the eveing-check.

We were out on our ride last night when the 5.0 earthquake in Randolph hit. I totally didn't feel a thing, then turned on the news when we got back and heard people in Salt Lake felt it....weird?!

I LOVE bike rides with my boy, and I LOVE living next to the beautiful Ogden Parkway with only the occasional bum encounters. They keep us real.

Tag's 2nd Birthday Party

As much as I can't stand that irritating 3rd person talking Elmo, I couldn't deny Tag a fun Elmo party. He gave me the best reaction ever when he walked into the party. I don't even think Disney himself could have pulled out more excitement.

His new tricycle from mom and dad.

cupcakes for the masses.
How many cookies are in cookie monster's jar?

Meet Dorothy. Our new pet goldfish.

The sign says Elmo's World. Tag made it.
What? Your two year old can't spell yet? ;)

Tag gave me the sweetest, excited, ooooohhhh when he saw
the cake. It made it all worth it.

Dad showing off Tag's new Ute sweats
from Gma and Gpa Bush, of course!

Tag got so many fun things! What a lucky boy
he is to have so many people love him!
Tag schooling the other kids on his new
basketball hoop from Gma & Gpa Abel.

Looks like a natural.

Little more school.
Tag loved being sang to this year. He even learned
the birthday song. What a cutie!
I love you my sweet boy! Happy 2nd Birthday!

Growing Like A Weed.

Tag visited Dr. Hoagland for his 2 yr. checkup yesterday and all is looking dandy. He is 37 inches and in the 93%, 32 lbs and in the 86%, and his head is 20 inches and in the 91%. I'd say he's just perfect! He took the 1 shot like a man and hardly even cried, then we got to meet Daddy for lunch at Wendy's and all was good.

My big boy is jumping, running, talking, singing, walking stairs, learning to dress himself, and using the potty. I can't believe what these little ones learn in just 2 years. Here are some of Tag's favorite things for the moment:

Characters:Nemo & Elmo

Toy: Basketball hoop and ball

Parent: Dad;) I think it's because he misses him so much

Animal: Kitty, meow, meow

Blanket: Light brown, one side silky, other side some soft mink texture

Food: Pizza (poppy), Bananas, Oranges, pancakes

Song: Hey Soul Sister, by Train. He sings the chorus beautifully, and on pitch.

Things to Say: No (sadly this still tops the charts), Love You (a beautiful close second), Thank You, and Oh Dear.
I sure do love this funny guy.

And So It Begins.....

Tax season has arrived....dun dun dun.... which means as the wife of an accountant I wish my dear husband farewell towards the end of January and reunite with him again in early April. Ha, ha, ok, that's a bit dramatic, but we do miss him a lot during busy season. Last week began the 6 day work weeks, so Saturdays are now just me and Tag. We kept ourselves busy with snowman making to numb the pain:)

Thanks for your hard work Sweetie! We love and miss you mucho!!!

I might also mention this is Tag's first snowman, and he did
a mighty fine job with him.
I got the best workout of my life lugging
Tag around on his new sled, from Grammy Jo.

All Together Again!

We were so thrilled that Ben, Brandy, and the girls were able to come visit from Oklahoma. It's been an awful long time since we've all been together. So long, in fact, that Tag, Amoree, and Kaleb met their Uncle, Aunt, and cousins for the first time! The kids warmed right up to their older cousins. Aren't big families great?

Brock came to do some family pictures for us.

Really, are there any words for these?

Pushing? No, that doesn't sound like my son.
Oh crap, you have proof.

Brock, any way to photoshop Tag's screaming face
out of the pic? Aw, maybe you should just edit
he and grandpa out.

We did the nativity story with the kids.
Here is the rebellious, but adorable, Joseph who refused to wear his headpiece,
give up his milk, or treat Mary kindly.
Kaitlyn as the Angel, Annika as the Shepherd, and Maliya as Mary.

We also went on a fun hay ride through Layton City Lights,
compliments of Katie and Eric.
It was loads of fun!

Cousin Sandwich!

Just the three of us...
