We Miss our Lola Kitty Kitty

Ya know those annoying people who call their pets their babies, miss them like crazy when they go on vacation, throw them birthday parties, and take them along on visits to see family? Well, that's us.
Today is our Lola baby's birthday (or Lola Kitty Kitty as she is known to Savana), so she has been especially on our minds. We got Lola in October of 2006 when she was just couple of months old (in lieu of a puppy). I was never a huge cat person, but of course I fell in love the day we brought her home. This kitty brought so much fun. We really enjoyed every second laughing at the crazy things she would do. We were especially excited to see she and Tag become buddies, but unfortunately she was hit by a car 4 days after Tag was born. We miss her like crazy, but are so happy we got to have her for a while.
So, if you're in the mood.....sit back and take a look at some crazy pet people pics!

1st Birthday complete with a party. Attendees included Grandma and Grandpa Abel and Aunt Mandy (My mom and dad's dog:)

Lola's bed in her room (the laundry room)

1st Christmas. Enjoying the wrapping.

These are from the first night we brought her home.

Happy Half-Birthday Tag Boy!

Our little guy is growing up. We're not sending him off to
school or anything yet, but on August 12th he turned the big
6 months. His doctor reported that he is doing great. Tag is 19 1/2 lbs. and 28 inches. We decided to take an evening hike to celebrate.

We recently bought him a new hiking pack due to a failed trip up Waterfall Canyon, that ended about a half mile up the hill, because of carrying him like this......(see picture above)

This pack does not fit on the hubby, so it was pretty much like carrying him around in my uterus again, except at triple the size. Not cool.

This is our new, upgraded pack. He's like a little prince sitting atop his chariot.
P.S. Yes, Jon can carry this one just fine, but I wanted to give it a try, as he already took him all the way to Waterfall Canyon in it.

This is just the Wheeler Creek trail up Ogden Canyon. It looks like we're in the Himalaya's or somewhere much neater.

Ok, here's where the half-birthday fun comes in. We decided to go with an easy-to-pack Hostess cupcake.

I told Jon to let him try it (meaning let him lick a little cream off your finger) and this was his understanding of the instruction.

He loved it! Do I really even need to put that? Who wouldn't love a Hostess cupcake?

And finally, the downfall to his new, cool pack...not so comfy when he falls asleep on the hike down:(

The End. Happy half-birthday son!

Bear Lake

We took this lovely trip in July, thanks to Jake and Karaline hooking us up with some family land to plop on. It was our first time camping with Taggart....not great nights, but the days were fun!

First boat ride for Tag. Not a huge fan of the life jacket. They're not really constructed well for little people without necks.
Uncle Daniel and Tag

This is classic...I wish I had a better picture, but this is a boat being pulled out by a tractor, being pulled out by a truck, being pulled out by another tractor. John Deere is sexy & the strongest!

He told me to take this picture. He should have known it would end up on the blog.

Oh, I just love my boys. I could not take enough pics like this.

Just kissing my cuz....yes, we'll stop this in a few years.

Tag: ABC's All About Me

A. Attached or Single - At the hip. Well that's how I'd like it, but Jon's a bit more independent.
B. Best Friend – Certainly the hubby.
C. Cake or Pie – Cake.....white funfetti with pink icing please.
D. Day – Saturdays of course, when our little family can hang out together.
E. Essential Item(s) – Old Melissa would have quite a large list here for herself, but I now survive with just lotion and chapstick for myself, and diapers, wipes, toys, binky, blanket, extra clothes, stc., etc. for Tag.
F. Favorite Color – Pink
G. Gummy bear or Worms – Gummy Bears-I like the clear ones the best.
H. Hometown - Clearfield
I. Indulgences – I love adorable heels. I now only wear these when I won't be carrying my boy around. So, I've worn them once since he arrived, on our anniversary date.
J. January or July – Oh, I've completely lost any love for the snow. Give me summer or go home.
K. Kids – Yep, and if you don't know about him yet, just scroll down and every single blog should mention him.
L. Life is incomplete without – My entire family and the Gospel (copy of Shay's answer)
M. Marriage Date – May 25, 2006
N. Number of siblings – Older sis, Older bro, and little bro.
O. Oranges or Apples – Oranges
P. Phobias or Fears – I don't want to get eaten by a mountain lion or a bear.
Q. Quote – "Everyone Poops"
R. Reason to Smile – looking at my boys, a full night sleep, and any great sale or clearance item.
S. Season - Fall
T. Tag – Jamie, RicAnn, Aunt Jo
U. Unknown fact about me – I still get up in the middle of the night and have a glass of milk like a three year old.
V. Vegan or Oppressor of Animals – I've yet to see a vegan larger than a size 3 pant. I likes my meat.
W. Worst Habit – Somewhat the opposite of Shay's answer-doing things on my own that I should have asked my husband to help me with. We currently have a fan that is shaking like it might fall down and the lights do not work, all because I took it down to paint it and tried to get it back up....not succesful.
X. X-rays or Ultrasounds – Ultrasounds of course, unless it doesn't have to do with a baby.
Y. Your favorite food – Winger's, yum.
Z. Zodiac Sign – Capricorn

Just the three of us...
